Welcome! I am a photographer based on New York's Long Island specializing in candid photography using available natural light. Although studio lighting is beautiful, I much prefer the photojournalistic approach capturing people and pets outdoors and in their natural environment rather than formal posed shots. I do use Photoshop but prefer to use it when needed to tweak or fine tune a photo. For me post processing is used to bring out the goodness that should already be inherent in a good captured image. Ultimately I like my photos to look natural and “untouched”. For me it's all about capturing personality and emotion regardless of whether it's a special occasion or a regular day. I work on location (at your house, the park, the beach) and prefer not to use backdrops, props, and staged or posed shots. I love candids and like to capture people and pets doing what they do naturally, all the while capturing their personality. Two of my favorite subjects are my nephews, Aidan and Collin, who say I'm “obsessed with my camera”. They couldn't be more right.
Photography is only one of many passions. I love writing and I also love to be in the kitchen (I'm a small scale caterer). I created Three Bites Food Blog in 2007 to journal my favorite recipes. Best of all, I get to do all three skills at once. You can visit the site by clicking here.
